Firstly appreciation for how useful I have found MKVToolNix…thanks.
Secondly apologies for my limited depth of understanding…I must start somewhere…
My problem is when I split a .ts video file on time stamps and append the parts I wish to keep I end up with messy joins as strobing artifacts from the previous file take some time to correct.
If I keep the files separate and set the media player to combine split videos the transition is clean. (a sort of workaround)
Is there some way I can set MKVToolNix to avoid the appended file seeking data from the previous file?
This is beyond the scope of MKVToolNix, and more like the domain of something like AVIdemux. There you can “cut” the parts you want and put them together. As long as you stick to doing the cuts in keyframes no artifacts will appear; cutting video in an arbitrary fashion just paying attention to timestamps will spell trouble. TBH I’m not sure myself of the reason behind this, but I blame it to limitations in video codecs. It makes it so much fun trying to “fix” choppy releases like Project Brainstorm where every other minute frames change size…
