I have created chapters with MKVToolnix and it works perfectly with the computer.
But it didn’t work when I tried it on a Blu-ray player (Sony BDPS1700).
Would you know the reason for this, and would you have a solution for me?

Sounds like your player doesn’t support chapters in Matroska. Not really anything you can do about that.
