I don’t know if this is possible, but it feels like it should be. I’ve discovered that I can create different editions by specifying them in a chapter file, and basically ordering the entire file any way I want. The editions even show up in VLC. Pretty cool. But it feels limited.
From what I understand, you can choose the edition and it works on the default files. This means you can specify chapter names and the order the file is played in. But this isn’t really my definition of ‘Edition’. What if you have an extended edition which is kept in a separate video track with it’s own audio track? In order to play it, I need to select the video and audio tracks, after which, selecting the edition doesn’t really do much besides specify chapter breaks.
Is there any way to specify what tracks are to be played when selecting an edition? If played in VLC for instance, this would make it almost like a DVD menu.
