How to set the "Track Enabled" flag to "No" by default

Hello everyone, I am trying to edit a large amount of videos at once and I am trying to set the “Track Enabled” Flag on the subtitle track to “No” on every file. Is there any way to do this? I found the setting for “Default Track” Flag but not “Track Enabled”.

I also tried to use a custom flag but I am probably not using it right, I put “–track-enabled-flag 2:0” but it didn’t do anything.

Welcome!

MKVToolNix GUI doesn’t have a setting for automatically setting that flag to “no” by default. To me this wouldn’t make much sense either; a disabled track will never be played by a player, some (most?) won’t even allow you to select such a track manually.

I see now, I was confused because every time I rendered it out I saved it to the same folder as the original files, and it would autoplay the seperate .srt file still. Thanks!

Ah yes, that’s a rather typical issue a lot of people have run into, myself included :joy:
