I have exclusively used JMkvpropedit to add posters to my media files. I now have some videos that came with separate subtitle files. Is there a way to use JMkvpropedit to add a subtitle track to an MKV file?
Welcome!
I don’t think you can do that with JMkvpropedit at all. Adding tracks means you have to fully remux (e.g. with MKVToolNix/mkvmerge
). JMkvpropedit is just a frontend for the mkvpropedit
CLI program (which itself is part of MKVToolNix), and mkvpropedit
can only edit certain header properties.
Note: JMkvpropedit is not part of MKVToolNix; it is not my product; I’ve only ever used it once or twice.
Thanks for the response! That makes sense. I’m still trying to wrap my brain around a lot of this stuff.
